Carroll O’Connor

My favorite television character of all-time, Archie Bunker, was brilliantly portrayed by Carroll O’Connor.  I wrote to him several times in the 1990s and each time received a pair of signed index cards.

His passing was the first time I ever became emotional upon hearing the news of a celebrity’s death.  I ended up listening to him and Jean Stapleton sing “Those Were the Days” on loop the entire day.
